Everyone pretty much had an opinion on it ranging from fans across the country to even the President of The United States, however everyone can now relax as the NFL offically has their referees back officiating football games.

The refs approved the new eight-year deal with the league that was put on the table earlier in the week with a strong 112-5 vote. It closes the chapter on the controversy caused from replacement refs officating games while the real refs were locked out and fighting for a better deal. The point can be fairly argued that it took for the shocking conclusion to the Green Bay Packers-Seattle Seahawks game on Monday night in front of a national television audience to finally get a deal put in place.

It’s ashamed that it took for a team to lose a game on a blown call by replacement refs and the public backlash that followed to be the wake up call that the league and the officials union needed to hammer out a new deal that works for both sides.

The refs returned to officate the Cleveland Browns-Baltimore Ravens Thursday night matchup with a tentative deal already in place. They’ll now all be ready to go for this Sunday’s full slate of football games and going forward from there.
